The digitalization of the industry is overdue, as the Corona crisis shows. Fears of high costs and long project durations are preventing the process. Actyx simplifies the digitalization with a specially developed platform. In addition, the first app store for vendor-independent factory software is to follow. Thanks to the cooperation with Alleantia, Actyx can now offer a first standard app on its platform. An important step for the software marketplace.
Munich, Pisa, 03.06.2020 - German industry is suffering from the Corona crisis. In order to come out of the crisis stronger and remain internationally competitive, factories must now focus on digitalization, says Bitkom President Achim Berg. So far, however, many companies have shied away from digitization projects because they are time-consuming and complex. Actyx changes that.
The company makes the digitalization of factories simple and fast. For this purpose, Actyx has developed a platform solution based on edge computing that creates a framework that makes productions quickly digitally workable. The platform is already being used successfully by various companies, including Peri, the world's leading manufacturer of scaffolding systems, and Klöckner, one of Germany's leading multi-metal distributors. The Fraunhofer Institute also relies on the Actyx solution for its research on Industry 4.0.
In order to support factories even more in the future, Actyx wants to establish the first manufacturer-independent app store for factory software. The company has now reached a first milestone on the way to this goal: the first standard app on the Actyx platform - through a cooperation with Alleantia. Alleantia soft IIoT gateways can now be easily and straightforwardly integrated by Actyx users.
The Italian software Company simplifies the integration of industrial plants in a plug-and-play mode, making fast and easy the often complex, time consuming integration of machines, production lines, and plants. Alleantia already offers "out-of-the-box" integration for more than 5000 industrial devices, CNCs, PLCs, and is continuously expanding its Library of Things. From now on, Alleantia software can be purchased and activated via the Actyx platform and used directly. In the future many more apps will be offered on the Actyx marketplace.

Oliver Stollmann, CEO of Actyx: "In the future factories will be able to download software as an app without any effort. This cooperation is a milestone in the direction of an app marketplace. But together we will achieve a bigger goal: making IoT integrations an added value for the end customer by developing simple, fast to implement and cost effective solutions".
Stefano Linari, CEO and Chairman of Alleantia: "We are delighted to be working with Actyx, sharing a common vision. The Actyx platform provides an ideal basis for creating fast useful and secure Industry 4.0 applications for many factories and sectors. Alleantia software will support such applications in managing easily integration with any old and new machine and industrial equipment".
